Tim Hermans

Tim Hermans is a member of the Executive Board at the National Bank of Belgium, where he leads a team of over 450 staff across the domains of supervision of market infrastructures and payment institutions, IT, cash, and the Digital Euro. He plays a key role in advancing technological innovation and cyber resilience within the Bank and the wider Belgian financial ecosystem.

As lead supervisor of globally systemic infrastructures, he addresses financial stability issues on a daily basis. He represents the Bank in high-level forums, including the ECB’s Digital Euro High-Level Task Force (HLTF) and the BIS Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures.
