Naoya Okada
Head of International Affairs & Counterfeit Deterrence
Naoya joined the Bank of Japan in 1994 and, since then, has worked in various departments such as IT, Operations, Archive, and the representative office in London. He also experienced secondments to the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, and the Japanese Ministry of Finance. He currently attends to international affairs in the field of cash at the Currency Issue Department, and his responsibilities include representing the Bank in international circles to deter the counterfeiting of banknotes. He holds a BA in Law from Keio University and a Post-graduate Diploma in European Union Law from King’s College London, and is currently working toward a PhD in History at Tohoku University.
