Hatem Ibrahim

Consultant to the Chairman for Risk Management

Currently, Hatem Ibrahim holds the position of Consultant to the Egypt Post Chairman for Risk Management; he is responsible for establishing Risk Management, Business Continuity, and Information Risk functions within Egypt Post.


Hatem Ibrahim served as Sub Governor for Central Risk and Information Security at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), which he joined in 2010. With over 40 years of banking experience, he has held senior executive roles in risk management, banking operations, internal audit, finance, and project management.


At the CBE, he established the frameworks for credit, market, and operational risk, business continuity (leading to the holding of ISO 22301 certification), and IT security. He previously served as Deputy Sub Governor for Financial Management, and oversaw the construction of the CBE’s new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital as well as various mega projects with the CBE.

Mr Ibrahim is a lecturer at the Egyptian Banking Institute and a speaker at Central Banking (global institution). He has chaired or served on multiple CBE committees (Credit, Emergency, Information Security) and other board memberships.


Earlier, he held leadership roles at Bank Audi (operational and retail risk) and MiBank, where he played a key role in the bank’s restructuring under Lloyds Bank TSB and contributed to GDR listing preparations.
