Fırat Emre Karataş

Fırat Emre Karataş has over 20 years of professional experience at the Central Bank, with a strong background in cash and treasury operations. Before he had joined the Issue Department, he spent 14 years working as a specialist in government debt servicing within Treasury and Financial Services. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Head of the Banknote Planning Division within the Issue Department, overseeing the accurate and seamless execution of banknote operations with commercial banks.

In his current role, Fırat Emre Karataş is responsible for ensuring efficiency and resiliency across the cash cycle, including optimizing cash management processes, strengthening the regulatory framework, and streamlining operations through the adoption of new technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
