Regarding Recent Regional Events: An Update on the Global Currency Forum
Dear GCF community,
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the recent conflict in and around Iran, and in this part of the world more broadly. We join the global community in hoping for a swift resolution that brings safety and stability back to the region.
We've received a few inquiries about possible impacts on the Global Currency Forum. Please be completely reassured that we are actively monitoring the situation in close coordination with our local partners and relevant authorities.
There is currently absolutely no indication of any direct disruption. Türkiye, and particularly Antalya and Istanbul, remain far from the affected area and continue to operate seamlessly as major transport and conference hubs. To our knowledge, no foreign ministries are advising against travel to Türkiye, and events are continuing to take place this week in Antalya.
Preparations for the Forum are advancing strongly, with new registrations arriving daily, and our speaker line-up is expanding with leading voices from across the currency community.
With two months to go, there is ample time for greater normality to return to the region. We are fully confident the GCF will proceed exactly as planned and look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be another outstanding gathering of our community.
Warm regards,
Frane Maroević
Director General, International Currency Association
