Kara Zona

Kara presides over the development and execution of micro-optic feature design leading a nine-person team responsible for iterating award-winning microlens-based security technology known throughout the industry as MOTION®, RAPID®, and MOTION SURFACE®. Under Kara’s guidance, feature customization and new product innovations are co-created with central bank designers and technology engineers. Kara co-led technical design for the first ever micro-optic multicolor movement effects culminating with the introduction of RAPID® Vision in 2023. She holds a degree in advanced 3D animation technique from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and an ever-expanding portfolio of digital design artwork.
