Dieter Merkle has been with Andritz Schuler Presses since 1975 and is currently the Director of Global Minting. He has served on the board of Schuler India since 2004 and became again Chairman in January 2020.

Dieter has been active in the Mint Directors Association (MDA) Technical Committee and the World Money Fair Technical Forum since 2004. He led a Customer Task Force from 2016, which transitioned to the International Mint Industry Association (IMIA) in April 2024 and in January 2026 to the International Currency Association.

Since 2017, Dieter has represented Andritz Schuler within the International Currency Association, joining its board in May 2017.
